[11/30/2004] ViOptix, a Fremont, CA-based developer and manufacturer of non-invasive local tissue oxygen measurement devices with applications in plastic, reconstructive and vascular surgery, announced today that the U.S. Patent Office has issued Patent Number US 6,801,648 for its optical imaging system with symmetric optical probe.
The imaging system is an extension of the company’s Optical Diffusion Imaging and Spectroscopy technology platform. ODIS enables non-invasive, direct, real-time estimation of local tissue oxygen saturation (StO2) on a very cost-effective basis. The technology will be used in diagnostic and monitoring equipment that has a wide variety of potential clinical applications.
